Adelaide’s boldest and best console gaming club is back for 2012, with exciting new releases and endearing old favourites, not to mention the videogames!

We start this week on Friday 3 February, in the Harry Medlin Room (South), Level 4 of Union House (West), Adelaide University (North Terrace), from 4pm to 8pm. Please join us for gaming and dinner at the markets afterwards.

Augh, forgot to post here. As mentioned on Facebook and on the forums, we held our last EVAC of the year on the 18th of November. Stay tuned for info on when we’ll be starting up in the new year. (We’ll aim for an early start in January again)

With the end of the semester coming up there are all-important exams to study for, but don’t forget to unwind for a bit! EVAC will be on as usual from 4-8pm and this week will be in the Harry Medlin North room. Head over to the forums to discuss!

EVAC 21/10/11 & 28/10/11 Expect Videogames And Cards

Oops! This one’s going up a bit late. So here’s the info for tomorrow’s meeting and I’ll throw in next week to make up for the lateness.

This week and next week we’ll be in Harry Medlin, and as always we’re on from 4pm to 8pm!

Think that EVAC’s just about the same old videogames? We’ve been playing more varied titles lately, with club members diving into their game libraries to share their favourite games with the group.

We’ve also been seen playing card games – from Uno to poker and most frequently the tricks game 500. There’s almost always a group of four duking it out throughout the evening to be the first to get to 500 points.

EVAC 14/10/11 – Eelektross, Virizion And Carracosta

That’s right, it’s that long-awaited second Friday of the month, and that means it’s time for the Adelaide Pokemon League at EVAC, hosted every second friday each month starting…this month! EVAC is from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M. in the Harry Medlin Room, on Level 4 of Union House, at Adelaide University, but the tournament won’t begin until 5.30 P.M. to give you all a chance to warm up those button fingers.

For those that aren’t into pokemon (and even those that are!), all the usual gaming goodness will also be happening, so there’s no reason not to come along and get your weekly dose.

EVAC 7/10/11 – EVAC Validates Acronym Circuituity

This week EVAC is meeting in the Margaret Murray Room on level 4 of Union House, from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M. or maybe in some other room depending on availability, but we’ll almost certainly be meeting and it will probably be somewhere on level 4, (look for all the screens and long-haired ragamuffin types). If you want to know more, ask away over at the forum.

Also, NEXT week (14/10) is our first monthly pokemon league event, so get hyping everywhere you can think of so that we can, you know, actually have a pokemon league.

At EVAC, Adelaide’s premier console gaming club, we recognise that not all video games are created equal, and we seek to celebrate the good games of this and bygone ages.
You’ll find us playing some of these games (and Naruto) in the Margaret Murray Room on level 4 of Union House from 4 P.M. until 8 P.M. this Friday. We hope to see you there.

EVAC 23/9/11- Evicted Vagrants Adjourn from Cinema

Oh Thom, you used “vagrants” in the post header again?

A good point there, but one that could be better made at this week’s EVAC meeting, from 4pm to 8pm in the Margaret Murray Room, on the Western end of Level 4 of Union House (contrary to what you may have heard). Please note the change of location…back to the usual place.
All the usual favourites (and maybe something interesting, if you bring it) will be there, and we’ll be heading up to the markets for dinner afterwards, if we can fight our way through the protesters and counter-protesters in the mall.

EVAC (Adelaide Uni’s venerable console gaming club) is meeting this Friday in the Margaret Murray Room, Level 4 of Union House at the University from 4 to 8 P.M. with an optional dinner at the central markets afterwards. We’re open to anyone with an enthusiasm for video games and free time on a friday night.
